Introducing Aberdeen Chiropractor  Eline Pedersen, MSc Doctor of Chiropractic (Director)

Aberdeen Chiropractor, Eline Pedersen

After many falls as a child and years of "growing pains" in my knees, my back finally gave in and dropped me to the ground at the age of 13.  The closest chiropractor was two hours away and, ever since that first visit, the chiropractor has been my primary health contact!

Growing up at an organic farm in the countryside of Norway prepared me for a life concerned with health and environment.  After my initial experience of back pain at age 13, I had several accidents skiing and a few on the road and there was never a question of where to go for treatment and corrective care. I did not want chemicals and tablets to cut off the symptoms my body was showing. After all it was my own choice to traumatise my body with fun sports... the least I could do was to listen to it!

After having worked as a Massage Therapist and Trainer for babies and adults for many years and I realised that I kept sending all my patients to the Chiropractor. When it came to continuing my education, the choice was between Midwifery and Chiropractic. Having realised that chiropractic was essential for wellness during pregnancy and delivery, the choice was easy. I enjoyed five years at Anglo European College of Chiropractic completing my Chiropractic Masters. During my Masters and regularly since I have enjoyed to continue my professional development in multiple directions; Cranio Sacral Theraphy (CST), Applied Kinesiology (AK), Chiropractic Paediatrics and Pregnancy (Webster Technique), Neuro Muscular Theraphy, Gonstead Technique and Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)  to mention some. I am also trained at the Thinsley House Treatment Clinic (THCT). Chiropractic brings me all over the world to learn and search for new and better ways to help our patients. The continuous education will never end.

We live in a challenged time where evidence of efficacy (proof that it works) is essential and both the medical and chiropractic fields are suffering from limited research being done. The most difficult part is that no matter how much research we do, it will never give us the "real story".  What I mean is that the seed is only as good as the soil it grows in. Health depends on more than an intervention at one moment in time. Healing depends on the environment and the inner status of the body, what we eat and our physical, emotional and chemical stress levels. How do we find a gold standard for doing research on life as a whole? Today's legal standard for studying efficiency and efficacy of a treatment or medication, called "Randomised Control Trials or (RCTs)", does not study the body as a whole. One way we can study life, is retrospectively. My favorite site for studying the effect of the environment, interventions and stresses during pregnancy, labour and early life is Michel and Pascal Odent's very well respected Primary Health Research Database. Evidence that treatments work is essential. However, we have all seen miracles happen in our practices, not just annually, but monthly, weekly and sometimes daily... miracles we didn't expect and that don't always fall under the boundaries of what has been proven in the past.

People seem to have forgotten the very basic principles for living a long and healthy life without dis-ease and stress. It has become my mission in life to provide natural and healthy solutions to the people I meet on my way and to bring new heights to their health and well being. I have a simple and basic philosophy; the body is able to heal it self as long as it is moving well, kept clean of toxins and is fed the right stuff. I can do the most for a person when he or she is young. That is why I also specialise in paediatric and pregnancy care - “like the bud is squint the plant grows twisted”. The youngest patient I have seen was only a few hours old and the oldest was 102 years old. However, it is never too late and I want to ask how can I help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care?
