Lockdown Easing?

Lockdown Easing?

As many of you will be aware, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon released the Scottish Government ‘COVID-19 this week. Routemap through and out of the crisis’ document on the 21st May 2020.

Based on this latest advice and update from the Scottish Chiropractic Association, we are hoping that Scotland will enter phase 2 in by the 18th of June!.

At this phase of lockdown release, the situation starts to change for us chiropractors. The situation for seeing patients will effectively be the same as at Phase 1, but more chronic pain and patient management will be able to be introduced which will mean that we will be start to see more routine cases and long-term patients with appropriate reassessments. In consultations with Scottish Government, the following expected changes will allow chiropractors to start to open their practices for more patients:

Meeting with people from another household indoors with physical distancing and hygiene measures in place

  • Small retail units (under 800 sqm) can open with physical distancing in place
  • Reintroduction of chronic disease management
  • Phased resumption of some screening services
  • Phased return of essential optometry/ophthalmology/dentistry services

Currently we are in Phase 1 of easing the lock down which means nothing has changed with the way we are currently operating and we can only see you if you are in acute/emergency/medical need as follows:

  • If you are in acute need we will see you following our risk triage over the phone!
  • If you are at high risk or have been in contact with anyone tested positive in the last 2 weeks or been ill yourself, we will have to wait a few weeks longer.

We are welcoming emergency clients to our practice. We can also take x-rays on site for those that might need an injury assessment. Our fantastic chiropractors Dr Massimo and Dr Hannah are on the other end of the line to discuss your care with you. We consider our social responsibility and want to keep our staff, associates and clients safe and have secure protocols in place to see you and your family.
