Optimising the Wellbeing of Kids & Pregnant Mums

Pregnant woman and childAt Aberdeen Chiropractic Clinic, we are deeply passionate about supporting pregnant mums, births, babies and families. Dr Eline Pedersen (Chiropractor) and her fellow doctors warmly welcome the smallest children. Our techniques are gentle, so adjustments can be made with little to no force.

Being Part of a Multidisciplinary Team

Eline has dedicated her career to understanding the effect of birth trauma to the developing child. She also is committed to helping pregnant women throughout every stage of pregnancy. “I also want to help improve a mum’s health and wellbeing in the transition to motherhood.”

She loves the chiropractic role in the multidisciplinary birthing team. “My goal is to work together for the best possible birth outcome. That happens when we can reduce the chances for stress and trauma during pregnancy and birth.”

How Chiropractic Helps Mother and Child

There are four stages in which having an optimally working nervous system can help both mother and child:

  • Pre-conception – prepare your body to be strong to support your growing baby
  • Pregnancy – experience a drug-free way to alleviate aches and pains
  • Labour and birth – chiropractic may reduce the need for birth interventions
  • After birth – as even a natural delivery can place stress on a baby’s spine chiropractic can help your newborn have a healthier nervous system

Birth Forward

Eline is the president of Birth Forward. She is passionate about promoting awareness of the European Medical Guidelines while supporting the natural birth process when possible.

According to the organisation’s website, “Birth Forward stands as an ambassador for parents wishing to make autonomous choices about their own and their family’s welfare throughout the full cycle of creating a family. We aim to provide advocacy, support and education for families and professionals in regards to the various stages of planning, creating and growing a family in Cyprus.”
