Supporting Jacobi's Wish

jacobi's pictureA Commitment to Caring for Our Neighbours

As we are nearing our 40th anniversary, one of the best ways we can celebrate this milestone is by giving back to our beloved community. We care deeply about those in Aberdeen and Shire and want to give back as a way to say “thank you” to everyone who has supported us for four decades.

Jacobi’s Wish

One of the initiatives we are supporting is Duchenne UK / Jacobi’s Wish. Jacobi is a little boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). If you have never heard of this condition, DMD is a severe muscle wasting disease caused by the lack of a protein called dystrophin.

Over time, the muscles in a boy affected by DMD will gradually deteriorate, resulting in the inability to walk and the need for a wheelchair between the ages of 8 and 13. This cruel disease also decreases life expectancy. At the present time, there is, unfortunately, no cure. Jacobi’s parents wanted to make a difference in their son’s life and to all other little boys affected by DMD. For that reason, they made the decision to start fundraising.

Jacobi and his family are patients of Aberdeen Chiropractic Clinic, so this hits close to home for us. The entire family comes in for their chiropractic checkups. We wanted to help with their fundraising for Duchenne UK / Jacobi’s Wish.

That’s why we decided to accept a £40 donation for all our new patients’ Chiropractic Examination fee to support this incredible family and their work in our community. We will run this charity for the whole of the second week of January, so please spread the word if you know of anyone who can benefit with our Chiropractic Care.

If you are already an existing patient or just wish to donate any amount instead, you can do so through this link. Thank you, in advance, for your support. We are grateful to have such kind and compassionate patients who care about others in need!
